This project transformed an underutilized backyard into a collection of outdoor spaces designed for recreation, relaxation, and entertaining. A grid of large concrete pavers, artificial turf joints, layered planting, and low-voltage lighting creates a strong visual framework that organizes movement throughout the property. The addition of a wood pergola, outdoor kitchen, dining area, and putting green provides a variety of destinations without overwhelming the scale of the yard. The result is a functional and inviting landscape that encourages everyday outdoor use while providing flexibility for recreation, relaxation, and family activities.

Planting That Connects the Outdoor Spaces
Planting was used to unify the different areas of the yard while bringing softness and texture to the hardscape. Ornamental grasses, succulents, flowering accents, and upright screening plants provide structure without feeling formal, helping the landscape feel relaxed and approachable. Along the side yard, planting enhances the transition to the putting green, while in the rear yard it helps define the outdoor kitchen, patio, and lawn areas. Together, these layers create a landscape that feels cohesive, comfortable, and easy to enjoy throughout the year.
Designed Around Everyday Enjoyment
The landscape was organized to support a variety of activities without sacrificing comfort or simplicity. The pergola-covered patio and outdoor kitchen create a natural gathering space, while the lawn and putting green offer opportunities for recreation and play. A clear paving layout links each destination, making movement through the yard feel intuitive and connected. Durable materials, artificial turf, and climate-appropriate planting help reduce maintenance while ensuring the space remains usable throughout the year.
