PLdesigns is led by Patrick Luhn, founder and principal landscape architect, whose work is shaped by a deep understanding of both design and real-world execution.
With a background that bridges creative vision and technical expertise, Patrick approaches each project with a clear and thoughtful perspective, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and constructability from the very beginning.
Patrick is a licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California and holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) from Ball State University. He also maintains professional certifications in landscape and water-efficient design and is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
His process begins with understanding—listening closely to the character of the property, the goals of the client, and the broader vision for the project. From there, he applies a thoughtful and disciplined design approach, ensuring every decision contributes to a cohesive and enduring landscape.
Patrick remains actively involved throughout the design process, providing continuity from concept development through final documentation. This consistent oversight helps maintain the integrity of the design while creating a collaborative and rewarding experience for clients.
