This front garden was reimagined as a welcoming arrival garden that strengthens the connection between the home and the street. Broad concrete steps, low garden walls, warm wood screening, and layered planting work together to create a clear sequence of movement while adding privacy and visual interest. The design balances openness with enclosure, creating a front garden that feels approachable, intentional, and connected to the architecture. The result is a contemporary entry experience that enhances both curb appeal and everyday life.

Planting That Enhances the Arrival Experience
The planting design was developed to support the clean architectural character of the home while bringing texture, color, and seasonal interest to the entry sequence. Drought-tolerant grasses, succulents, lavender, and resilient shrubs soften the concrete walls and paving, creating a landscape that feels both contemporary and inviting. Rather than competing with the architecture, the planting reinforces the approach to the home and provides year-round visual interest with minimal maintenance.
Designing the First Impression
Every element of the landscape was organized to improve the experience of approaching and entering the home. Wide steps, generous landings, and a clearly defined pathway create a comfortable and intuitive route from the sidewalk to the front door. Low walls and wood screening add privacy while preserving an open and welcoming character. Integrated lighting extends the usability of the space after sunset, highlighting key architectural features and enhancing the sense of arrival.
